The.Stat Suite API provides RESTful services for accessing statistical data and metadata. It uses SDMX standards and includes features for data extraction and management. The API documentation is available online. The REST API base URL is https://{ws-entry-point}/rest and Some endpoints are public, others require an API key or authenticated user permissions..

How do I authenticate with the .Stat Suite API?

API key can be sent in a request header for throttled services; management/transfer APIs require an authenticated user with appropriate permissions, otherwise a 403 error is returned.

1. Get your credentials

  1. Install or obtain access to an instance of .Stat Suite (contact the instance operator).\n2) For Search API keys, follow the instance's SFS API key configuration page to create a key (server admin creates keys and assigns throttling).\n3) For management/transfer access, ask the instance administrator to create a user with required permissions (read/insert/update/delete structures, manage dataflows).

2. Add them to .dlt/secrets.toml

How do I set up and run the pipeline?

Set up a virtual environment and install dlt:

1. Install the dlt AI Workbench:

3. Start LLM-assisted coding:

Use /find-source to load data from the .Stat Suite API into DuckDB.

The rest-api-pipeline toolkit takes over from here — it reads relevant API documentation, presents you with options for which endpoints to load, and follows a structured workflow to scaffold, debug, and validate the pipeline step by step.

4. Run the pipeline:

This opens the Pipeline Dashboard where you can verify pipeline state, load metrics, schema (tables, columns, types), and query the loaded data directly.


Python pipeline example

This example loads sdmx_data and datastructure from the .Stat Suite API into DuckDB. It mirrors the endpoint and data selector configuration from the table above:

To add more endpoints, append entries from the resource table to the "resources" list using the same name, path, and data_selector pattern.


How do I query the loaded data?

Once the pipeline runs, dlt creates one table per resource. You can query with Python or SQL.

Python (pandas DataFrame):
