Clash of Clans API provides access to game data including player profiles, clan information, and league rankings for the Clash of Clans mobile game. The REST API base URL is https://api.clashofclans.com/v1 and all requests require a Bearer token in the Authorization header.

How do I authenticate with the Clash of Clans API?

The API uses Bearer authentication, requiring an Authorization header in the format 'Bearer '. Additionally, the 'Accept: application/json' header is typically required.

1. Get your credentials

  1. Navigate to the Clash of Clans Developer Portal at https://developer.clashofclans.com/ and create an account or log in.
  2. Go to the "My Account" page.
  3. Locate the section to create a new API key.
  4. Enter a name for your key and provide the public IP address(es) from which you will be making API requests (this is required).
  5. Once saved, your API key (token) will be generated. Copy this token for use in your application.

2. Add them to .dlt/secrets.toml

How do I set up and run the pipeline?

Set up a virtual environment and install dlt:

1. Install the dlt AI harness:

3. Start LLM-assisted coding:

Use /find-source to load data from the Clash of Clans API into DuckDB.

The rest-api-pipeline toolkit takes over from here — it reads relevant API documentation, presents you with options for which endpoints to load, and follows a structured workflow to scaffold, debug, and validate the pipeline step by step.

4. Run the pipeline:

Python pipeline example

This example loads /clans and /players from the Clash of Clans API into DuckDB. It mirrors the endpoint and data selector configuration from the table above:

To add more endpoints, append entries from the resource table to the "resources" list using the same name, path, and data_selector pattern.


How do I query the loaded data?

Once the pipeline runs, dlt creates one table per resource. You can query with Python or SQL.

Python (pandas DataFrame):
