How do I authenticate with the Helius API?

Helius APIs require an API key for authentication, which can be provided as a query parameter named 'api-key' or as a request header named 'X-Api-Key'.

1. Get your credentials

  1. Navigate to the Helius Dashboard at https://dashboard.helius.dev and sign in or create an account. 2. Locate the 'API Keys' section in the left-hand sidebar. 3. Click the 'Create New API Key' button and assign a descriptive name (e.g., 'dlt-pipeline') to your project. 4. Copy the generated API key immediately, as it will not be displayed again once you leave the page.

2. Add them to .dlt/secrets.toml

How do I load only new Helius records?

Helius exposes paginationKey on v0/get-program-accounts, so dlt can request only the records that changed since the last run. Set it as the cursor_path and dlt tracks the high-water mark for you between runs.

On the first run dlt loads everything from initial_value; on every run after that it requests only what changed and appends with write_disposition="merge" if you set a primary key. See incremental loading.
