How do I authenticate with the Govee API?
Authentication is performed by passing a Govee-issued API key in the 'Govee-API-Key' HTTP header for all requests that require it.
1. Get your credentials
To obtain your Govee Developer API key: 1. Download and install the Govee Home App on your mobile device. 2. Navigate to your Profile page (👤 icon). 3. Open Settings (⚙️ icon). 4. Select 'Apply for API Key'. 5. Provide your name and the reason for your application (e.g., home automation). 6. Accept the Terms of Service and submit. Your API key will be sent to the email address associated with your Govee account within a few minutes. Note that you can only have one active API key at a time; applying for a new one will invalidate the previous key.

How do I load only new Govee records?
The Govee API reference does not document a timestamp or sequence field for these endpoints, so there is nothing to advertise here as verified. Pick a field from the endpoints table above that increases with every write, then set it as the cursor_path.
