How do I authenticate with the Geonode API?

GeoNode supports HTTP Basic Authentication and Bearer Token authentication. The Authorization header must be set to 'Basic {encoded_credentials}' or 'Bearer {token}'.

1. Get your credentials

To obtain authentication credentials for GeoNode, log in to your GeoNode dashboard with your user account. Navigate to the user profile or the dedicated 'Proxy' or 'API' section if configured. GeoNode primarily utilizes Basic Authentication (your username and password) or Bearer tokens. Tokens are typically generated upon login through the UI; you can view or manage active tokens by accessing the Django admin interface at /admin/oauth2_provider/accesstoken/ if you have administrative privileges. Alternatively, for development, you can use your standard credentials encoded as Base64 in the Authorization header.

2. Add them to .dlt/secrets.toml

How do I load only new Geonode records?

The Geonode API reference does not document a timestamp or sequence field for these endpoints, so there is nothing to advertise here as verified. Pick a field from the endpoints table above that increases with every write, then set it as the cursor_path.

On the first run dlt loads everything from initial_value; on every run after that it requests only what changed and appends with write_disposition="merge" if you set a primary key. See incremental loading.
