How do I authenticate with the Flexport API?

Authentication is performed via an OAuth 2.0 access token passed in the Authorization header as a Bearer token: 'Authorization: Bearer '. Additionally, some APIs require a 'Flexport-Version' header.

1. Get your credentials

To obtain credentials for the Flexport API, log in to the Flexport portal and navigate to 'Your Business' in the top navigation bar, then select 'Settings'. Depending on the specific API you are using, look for either the 'API Credentials' or 'API Tokens' tab. For general public API access, navigate to 'API Credentials', click 'Create Credentials', select the required resource permissions, and copy the provided Client ID and Client Secret. For the Logistics API, navigate to 'API Tokens', click 'Create Token', and copy the generated bearer token. Note that account administrator privileges are required to create these credentials.

2. Add them to .dlt/secrets.toml

How do I load only new Flexport records?

The Flexport API reference does not document a timestamp or sequence field for these endpoints, so there is nothing to advertise here as verified. Pick a field from the endpoints table above that increases with every write, then set it as the cursor_path.

On the first run dlt loads everything from initial_value; on every run after that it requests only what changed and appends with write_disposition="merge" if you set a primary key. See incremental loading.
