How do I authenticate with the Adyen API?

Adyen supports API Key authentication via the 'X-API-Key' header or Basic authentication via the 'Authorization' header. For API key authentication, the header value is the raw API key; for Basic authentication, it is 'Basic ' followed by the base64-encoded 'username:password' string.

1. Get your credentials

  1. Log in to your Adyen Customer Area.
  2. Select your Company account.
  3. Navigate to Developers > API credentials.
  4. Select the API credential for your integration (e.g., ws_123456@Company.[YourCompanyAccount]).
  5. Under the Server settings section, select the API key tab.
  6. Click Generate API key.
  7. Copy the generated key immediately and store it securely. You cannot view it again after leaving the page.
  8. Click Save changes.

How do I load only new Adyen records?

The Adyen API reference does not document a timestamp or sequence field for these endpoints, so there is nothing to advertise here as verified. Pick a field from the endpoints table above that increases with every write, then set it as the cursor_path.

On the first run dlt loads everything from initial_value; on every run after that it requests only what changed and appends with write_disposition="merge" if you set a primary key. See incremental loading.
