How do I authenticate with the OpenZeppelin API?

Defender authenticates by exchanging an API key and secret for a short‑lived JWT. Include the JWT in the 'Authorization' header (e.g., Authorization: $JWT) for all authenticated requests.

1. Get your credentials

  1. Sign in to the OpenZeppelin Defender dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Settings → API Keys (or Team → API Keys).
  3. Click "Create New API Key" to generate an API key and secret.
  4. Save the apiKey and apiSecret securely; they are used to obtain a JWT for API calls.

2. Add them to .dlt/secrets.toml

How do I set up and run the pipeline?

Set up a virtual environment and install dlt:

1. Install the dlt AI Workbench:

3. Start LLM-assisted coding:

Use /find-source to load data from the OpenZeppelin API into DuckDB.

4. Run the pipeline:

This example loads deployments and relayers from the OpenZeppelin API into DuckDB. It mirrors the endpoint and data selector configuration from the table above:

To add more endpoints, append entries from the resource table to the "resources" list using the same name, path, and data_selector pattern.


How do I query the loaded data?

Once the pipeline runs, dlt creates one table per resource. You can query with Python or SQL.

Python (pandas DataFrame):
